Built Around Koroyd®
The SHK-2 is built entirely around Koroyd — a matrix of welded tubes that crumple uniformly on impact. With no heat-trapping EPS foam, air moves through the helmet, so cooling is part of the helmet itself rather than a bolt-on fan or battery pack.
Koroyd Impact Liner
Welded tubes crumple instantly and consistently on impact. Tested for both top and lateral impact.
Cooling by Design
No EPS foam to trap heat — the open tube structure lets air move through the helmet.
Precision Fit System
Retention arms adjust vertically to sit below the occipital bone, with a rotary rear dial and height-adjustable brow pad.
One-Handed Buckle
The magnetic Fidlock® buckle on the 4-point chinstrap clicks shut and releases fast, even with gloves on.
Glove-Friendly Dial
A large, tactile rear dial turns easily even with thick gloves on, and integrated grip panels make the helmet easy to handle.
Visible Impact Check
Koroyd crumples visibly under a severe impact, so a daily inspection shows whether the liner has taken a hit and the helmet needs replacing.
Integrated Lamp Clips
Built-in clips retain a headlamp — compatible with Studson's SHK-1 headlamps.
Stays Fresh
The Ionic+ antimicrobial lining resists bacteria and odor from heat and sweat.
Designed to the New Standard
Studson designed the SHK-2 to the upcoming ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2026 Type II+ standard, which has not yet been released.
Full Brim or Standard Brim
Full Brim
A full 360-degree brim that shades the face and sheds rain and debris clear of the neck. Available vented (Class C) or non-vented (Class E).
Standard Brim
A classic cap-style shell with a short front brim that opens up sightlines when looking overhead or climbing, plus an integrated rear peak that keeps rain and sun off the neck. Available vented (Class C) or non-vented (Class E).

Should I choose vented (Class C) or non-vented (Class E)?
Vented Class C helmets offer more airflow but are not electrically rated. Non-vented Class E helmets are electrically rated. Choose based on your site's assessed hazards — an SSI representative can help.
